Eric H. Kohler — E.H.K. Design — is an interior designer and graphic designer based in New York City.
With over thirty-five years experience, he applies a distinctive aesthetic drawn from a vast knowledge of period and modern design that influences his approach to each project.
His interior design work includes residences and commercial spaces, and he specializes in restorations and renovations that require identifying and salvaging important historical architectural detail and decoration. To this end he maintains a roster of artisans and contractors who execute the highest quality installations to his specifications. His interior clients include fifteen years as one of the principal designers for the real estate portfolio of the Cafritz Foundation in Washington DC.
His graphic design work comprises brand identity, editorial design, architectural sign programs, and entertainment graphics for Columbia Records, Capitol Records, The Gap, Macy’s, Clairol, Lancôme, and Random House.
He studied art and design at Cooper Union in New York City and is the author of In the Groove: Vintage Record Graphics 1940 – 1960 published by Chronicle Books.
